Out of all the players, there are eight players who have made it to the marquee list. While their base price starts at 50 Lakhs, it is sure to the fans that the teams would go till crores fighting to get them to their line-up. With this being the first mega auction, each and every team must have already strategised which player they will be targeting.
1. WPL Auction Details
The Women's Premier League Mega Auction will be taking place on 27 November. And the window for all the players to register in the same had already started with the retentions being announced by the team. Some teams have used all of their retention while the others
In the WPL Mega Auction, there are a total of 277 players who have registered themselves. Out of these, 83 players are overseas, who will be eager to know whether they will find a new team in the upcoming edition or not. But in the auction, there are a total of 73 slots available, which means for the players.
Along with that, the overseas players have been on the headlines lately. There are 83 overseas players who have registered but the slots in the auction are just 23. Also, 23 players have registered from Australia itself. But these 23 players of Tahlia McGrath and Sophie Molineux.
Apart from that, 22 players from England have also registered themselves for the same. There is a player from Thailand also listed in the auction, which is the left-arm spinner Thipatcha Putthawong. Sarah Bryce has also not registered for the mega auction, and it should be noted that she was a part of Delhi Capitals last time.
2. Marquee Players List
The eight players who have made it to the marquee list have also been announced. For those who don't know, this list comprises players who are top-tier and popular around the world. These players start with the base price of 50 lakh in the auction but their names would suggest that the bidding war would be great.

All of the players mentioned above have registered themselves at a base price of 50 lakh. But there are two players who stand as an exception. Renuka Singh has listed her base price at 40 lakh, while the South African captain, Laura Wolvaardt for 30 lakh.
In this marquee players list, three players have been a part of UP Warriorz in the previous season. These players include Deepti Sharma, Sophie Ecclestone, and Alyssa Healy. Fans would be eager to see which player is UP Warriorz able to use their and get them back to their team.
Meg Lanning would be the player who is likely to attract various teams. She was the captain of Delhi Capitals in the Women's Premier League, and even led the team to three consecutive finals. Ever since her release from the team, Lanning has entered a superior form, as she is continuously smashing runs in the Women's Big Bash League.

While there are a lot of players entering the Mega Auction, it is also necessary for the fans to know about the purse remaining with each team. UP Warriorz is the only team which enters the Mega Auction with the highest purse, with the number in crores standing in double digits. They have retained just one player, which puts their purse at 14.50 crores.

Following them are Gujarat Giants which also come to the auction with a good purse. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the one-time champions, have one Right to Match card available with them. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals enter with the least purse, as they have used up all of their retention before the auction.
