India has not been the same like it was earlier in the Test format. Even the SENA countries feared facing India in the home tests earlier. And now, India has lost its last two home series against SENA teams. Amidst this, Virat Kohli’s brother might have taken an indirect dig at the Indian Head Coach.

The Indian team is having an unreal downfall in the Test format. There was a time when countries were named as India's fortress away from home. But now, it seems that even playing at home won't guarantee India a win in the Test matches. This comes after India suffered a brutal series loss against South Africa,

This is India's second whitewash at home over their last three home series. It all started with the three-match series against New Zealand back in 2024. And now, it continues with India losing yet another series at home against South Africa. Even the social media is filled with fans remembering the captaincy of Virat Kohli in Tests.

1. Virat Kohli's Brother's Deleted Post

Virat Kohli's brother, Vikas Kohli, has been active across all the social media handles. Watching the Indian team go down badly against South Africa, he posted on his Threads account. His post came after South Africa had set a massive target of 549 runs for India to chase, and India ended up losing two wickets before the game came to an end on Day 4.

In his post, he targeted the BCCI indirectly. Even Vikas Kohli seemed disappointed with the downfall of the Indian team in the Test format. A team which lost just two home tests under Virat Kohli's captaincy had now lost two home series with a whitewash in quick succession.

He posted by saying,“There was a time that we played to win even in overseas conditions.... Now we are playing to save the match....even in india.. This is what happens when u try to boss around and change things unnecessary which were not broken….”

Along with that, Vikas Kohli made yet another post on his Threads account which indirectly said that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were forced to retire. He said that the strategy of the Indian team is to remove the senior and experienced players from the line-up, and remove the proper batsmen from the third, fourth, and fifth batting spot.

Vikas Kohli also targeted the BCCI selection committee, saying that the team uses all all-rounders in their line-up. And comparing India's strategies with South Africa, he talked about how the Proteas were able to bring up the specialist players for each role in the game.

2. Virat Kohli’s Home Domination

Virat Kohli has been rated as India's best Test captain of all-time. He took over the Test captaincy from MS Dhoni back in 2014, and the Indian team stood at number 7 in the ICC rankings. With the captaincy of Virat Kohli, India was able to quickly reach the top spot in the ICC rankings, and

At that time, defeating India in home conditions seemed to be a challenge for every country. This was possible due to the captaincy of Virat Kohli, and the line-up which he had established in the team. India had a premier fast bowling line-up with stars such as Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and a lot more.

In the spin department, India was able to take quick wickets with the help of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin. Along with that, India also had a stable batsman at number three, which is Cheteshwar Pujara. This strong line-up helped India to establish its dominance in the home conditions and even

Having Virat Kohli as the captain, India was able to lose just 2 Test matches at home from 2013 to 2022. In this period, the majority of the Test matches had Virat Kohli leading the team. But fans would be shocked to know that from 2023 to 2025, India has lost a total of 7 Test matches at home, which creates for the team.

In 2019 when South Africa last visited India for a Test series, India did a whitewash to the Proteas. Faf du Plessis, who led the team at that time, talked about India's tactics. Faf said that India used to score more than 500 runs in every test match and declare when it was about to get dark. At the same time, the team took three wickets before the day ended, and put pressure on the next day.
