Recently, he was able to dominate in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Bowling some magnificent spells, he even bowled well when the team was under pressure. Taking two wickets in the Super Over, he has showcased his worth to the team. This also makes the line-up of Chennai Super Kings too strong, as they have retained him for the next season.

1. Kamboj’s Match-Winning Spell vs Punjab

Anshul Kamboj played for Haryana in the team's second Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match. This match was against Punjab, which is filled with star batsmen such as Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh. The match between these two teams was played at Hyderabad, and Haryana in the game.

They managed to score 207 runs for the loss of 9 wickets, giving a massive target to Punjab. Now, it seemed to be an easy target to chase for Punjab, as the team had Prabhsimran Singh and Abhishek Sharma to open for them. But they were totally unaware of the storm of Anshul Kamboj which for them.

Kamboj was able to take the wicket of Abhishek Sharma at first, dismissing him for just 6 runs. And before that, he also took the wicket of Prabhsimran Singh, who had given Punjab an electrifying start in the game. After these two wickets, he was able by conceding 26 runs in 4 overs and taking 2 wickets for the team.

But the other bowlers were not able to do as well as Anshul Kamboj. As a result, the match ended in a tie, and both teams had to go through a Super Over. Anshul Kamboj bowled the Super Over and he conceded just one run, while also managing of Abhishek Sharma and Sanvir in the game.

This helped Haryana to win the game and Anshul Kamboj received the POTM award for the same. He was able to dismiss Abhishek Sharma two times in just a single game, showcasing his skills to the selectors. Since he managed to trouble the ICC number one batsman, he surely has made it to the BCCI selectors again.

2. Kamboj's CSK Campaign

Anshul Kamboj played for Chennai Super Kings in the last season. However, he was not able to play all the games for the team but still ensured to leave his mark. In the season where all other CSK bowlers came out to be expensive, Kamboj was able to maintain his economy rate at just 8 runs per over in the entire season.

He played just 8 games for Chennai Super Kings and took 8 wickets. While he was not able to consistently take wickets for the team, he was able to set the batsmen in a challenging position. So, this also helped Kamboj to be retained by Chennai Super Kings for the upcoming IPL season. With his impressive performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, there won't be anyone more happy than the CSK Management.

3. International Debut

Anshul Kamboj was a part of India A's team against England Lions. He was able to do well for the team in the unofficial Tests, which further opened his way to the Indian team. His international debut came soon during the India tour of England, when Kamboj received his maiden cap during the 4th Test.

The match ended in a draw, but Kamboj was able to get his maiden wicket in the game. He dismissed Ben Duckett, giving India a much-needed breakthrough in the game. But that has also been his last international appearance, as he has not been picked in the team since then.
