Gujarat Giants were one of the initial teams which participated in the Women's Premier League. But they are also among the few teams which have not won the Women's Premier League even once. Now, the team will be eyeing its first ever title in the WPL 2026 season, as they have for the upcoming season.

For the first time, they were able to reach the playoffs of the Women's Premier League in the previous season. However, the team has now filled its squad with Yastika Bhatia, Georgia Wareham, and a lot more. The faces will be new but the team will have the same objective, to win its first Women's Premier League title. Let's take a look at the squad of Gujarat Giants.

Gujarat Giants WPL 2026 Full Squad

Gujarat Giants entered the Women's Premier League Mega auction with a high purse. The team had used just two retentions, which helped them to get the maximum of the Right to Match card. They had retained just Ashleigh Gardner and Beth Mooney, who were among the key players for the team. Entering the mega auction, their main aim was to strengthen the new team as much as possible.

Having a good purse allowed Gujarat Giants to go for the players they really wanted. Along with that, the team also used its Right to Match card at its best, and retained some of the most underrated players from their line-up ahead of the next season.

Retained Players

When it came to the Women's Premier League retentions, fans had some huge expectations from Gujarat Giants. The team had many legendary stars but keeping five of them before the auction was a challenging task. So, they decided to enter the mega auction with just two retentions, which were made of the capped overseas players.

Gujarat Giants went on to retain their captain, Ashleigh Gardner for the next season. She was the highest retention made by the team for a total of 3.50 crore rupees. Now, there won't be any buzz on who will be leading the team in the next season. Along with Gardner, they have also to their line-up.

Mooney will be making a great addition to the team yet again, as it will also be her fourth season with them. Although she was not able to do well for them in the last season, her performances were vital to help Gujarat Giants to reach the playoffs of the tournament. With the captaincy of Ashleigh Gardner, the team will be giving the WPL title another shot.

Players Brought in WPL Auction 2026

Gujarat Giants can be called as one of the most talented teams in the auction. Their moves on the auction table were bold, which allowed them to get the best possible players to their line-up. It all started with the all-rounder, Sophie Devine, who has now joined the team for a whopping total of 2 crore rupees. The experience of Sophie Devine, who has just retired from ODI, will be helpful to the team

Georgia Wareham was another top pick made by the team, who has now joined their line-up for just 1 crore rupees. The youngster has been impressive with her all-round skills, and the spin conditions on Indian pitches have helped her to a great extent. Her inclusion brings depth to the bowling and batting line-up of Gujarat Giants for the upcoming season.

Gujarat Giants also decided to use two of their Right to Match cards. In the auction itself, it went on to retain two players which were Bharti Fulmali and Kashvee Gautam. Both of these retentions had cost the team just 1.35 crore, as they were able to bring to their line-up.

Following this, Renuka Singh has also joined the team with the Mega Auction. The Indian fast bowler had entered the auction with a base price of 40 Lakhs. But she didn't acquire many bids from the teams, which further allowed Gujarat Giants to go for the same. Eventually, they went on to add a primary bowler to their line-up in the for just 60 lakhs.

Along with that, Gujarat Giants were also looking forward to some opening batters for the team. Yastika Bhatia, who has played for Mumbai Indians in three seasons, entered the auction and she was eventually brought up by Gujarat Giants for a total of 50 lakh rupees. Taking a look at the total expenditure, Gujarat Giants got a primary bowler and a primary batter in just 1.10 crore combined.
