Frank Lampard’s Coventry produced a brilliant comeback, overturning a 2 goal deficit to beat West Brom 3 to 2 for their ninth win in 10 matches. Eccles, Simms and Torp led the revival after Molumby’s red card. Bristol City won 3 to 0, Southampton claimed a 5 to 1 victory and Leicester edged Stoke 2 to 1 with Patson Daka scoring again.

As the Championship weekend unfolded, Coventry City produced the most dramatic comeback of the round by overturning a 2 goal deficit to beat West Bromwich Albion 3 to 2. Aune Heggebo struck twice to hand West Brom a strong early lead, but Josh Eccles pulled one back before half time. The momentum shifted completely when Jayson Molumby was sent off just four minutes into the second half.

With the visitors down to 10 players, Ellis Simms levelled the match before Victor Torp completed Coventry’s turnaround. The result marked Coventry’s ninth win from their last 10 matches and kept them 7 points clear at the top of the table, prompting manager Frank Lampard to praise his side’s character. Elsewhere, Middlesbrough earned a 1 to 1 draw at Oxford thanks to Morgan Whittaker’s second half equaliser after Luke Harris opened the scoring. Leicester City defeated Stoke 2 to 1, with Patson Daka ending a year long goal drought by scoring just before the break after Stephy Mavididi’s opener.

Bristol City boosted their promotion hopes with a 3 to 0 win over Swansea, while Southampton impressed again under interim coach Tonda Eckert with a dominant 5 to 1 victory at Charlton, featuring a brace from Finn Azaz. Portsmouth beat Millwall 3 to 1, and Birmingham swept past Norwich 4 to 1 in Philippe Clement’s first match in charge of the Canaries.
