MP vs KER | Twitter stunned as Yash Dubey rues shouldering arms against inswinging beauty from Praveen

Great batters always have an idea of where their off stump is, and Yash Dubey had to pay for his mistake during the Ranji Trophy game against Kerala in Indore. The Madhya Pradesh opener shouldered arms to an inswinging beauty from Praveen A V, only to find his off-stump disturbed.

‌Kerala recovered well from 105/6 to end their first innings against Madhya Pradesh at a respectable 281 in Indore on Monday. The visitors were well-served by Baba Aparajith (98) and Praveen AV’s (60) fighting fifties at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, with left-arm seamer Arshad Khan and off-spinner Saransh Jain picking up four and three wickets, respectively.

In return, Madhya Pradesh started cautiously with opener Yash Dubey being watchful and leaving anything outside off stump. But his watchfulness came back to bite him as debutant Praveen sent him packing for a 16-ball duck with an inswinging beauty.

The pacer, who shared the new ball with MD Nidheesh, used the crease cleverly to push in a delivery from a wide angle in his third over. The ball pitched on a length outside off stump, with Dubey leaving it alone with the assumption that the ball would make its way to the wicketkeeper.

But to his horror, the ball seamed in dangerously to kiss the top of off stump, as he helplessly stood still before making his way back. Praveen, who impressed with the bat on debut, was now making the ball talk, giving the visitors an excellent start. Twitter was in awe of the young pacer’s skill set to trick an experienced campaigner like Dubey.
