Members of the CoA have dismissed rumours of Ravi Shastri's appointment coming under the scanner, in light of the recent conflict of interest charges that have been levelled against the CoA. These allegations were levelled against the CoA by Sanjeev Gupta, a member of the MP cricket association.

The three-member CAC consisting of Kapil Dev, Shantha Rangaswamy and Anshuman Gaekwad was formed for the selection of the head coach for the India team. This committee was responsible for the appointment of Ravi Shastri as the head coach after the World Cup.

DK Jain, the ethics officer of the BCCI on Sunday, served notices to all three members of the CoA in response to the allegations. Since Shastri’s appointment, Rangaswamy has resigned from the board. However, some reports suggest that if the accusations are found to hold ground, then Shastri would need to be re-appointed for his post.

“Before forming the CAC, we had asked the members to submit ‘No Conflict of Interest’ declarations and there was no conflict found by the BCCI. The CAC was appointed only for one particular purpose and as far as Shastri’s appointment is concerned, it has been done legally and we have already given him a contract, so there’s no question of any changes now,” comments Ravindra Thodge another member of the CoA, as quoted by Sportstar.

The CAC that was responsible for the appointment of Shastri was formed last year, when members of the previous CAC, which included Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and VVS Laxman, refused to remain as members in light of Conflict of interest charges.
