IPL | Sunrisers Hyderabad’s IPL 2025 journey ends in silence as rain takes centrestage

The Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Capitals game at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad was abandoned due to rain. Delhi scored 133/7 from 20 overs after being put in to bat first before rain took over and with a solitary point Sunrisers was formally eliminated from IPL 2025.
With rain pouring down during the innings break, the start of the Sunrisers’ innings got delayed. The incessant rains continued and groundsmen were in full swing to ensure the home side got a chance to chase even though the number of overs started to reduce. But rain had the final say as both sides ended up getting a point each and that resulted in SRH being formally eliminated from the IPL this year. However, Delhi continued to be in the race for the playoffs at fifth place with 13 points from 11 matches.
