Mumbai Games expects total participation to go above 20k this season

Mumbai Games, the world's first multi-sport, multi-age, franchise-based sports extravaganza, enters its second week of the two-month long season. The first week was welcomed with an upward of 1500 entries participating and Games expects the total participation to go above 20k this season.

The games were flagged off on the 30th of November 2019 with the esteemed presence of Mr. Mangirish Palekar, Secretary of the Mumbai District Badminton Association and Mr. Sunder Shetty, Secretary of the Maharashtra Badminton Association. Also present at the event were Mr. Nitin Arora, the business head of Pune 7 Aces, our badminton partners for the Games along with Sahil Solanki and Rahul Arora who are part of the management team at 7 Aces Pune. 

Mr. Pullela Gopichand, one of the members of the governing council of Mumbai Games addressed the participants as they were eagerly waiting for Season 2 to kick off. The excitement was self explicit as they warmed up with determination ready to play and the energy only took off after being addressed by Mr. Gopichand himself. He said, "Last year was a great success with more than 12k participants, the people of Mumbai have made this event grand. I hope that this year sees a higher number of Mumbaikars coming out to play." 

A total of 188 matches have been played between the categories of Boys U 15 and Girls U 15 as of yesterday, all representing their respective contingents that are looking to rake up as many points as possible to catch the top spot. Registrations are open for 17 more sports and Mumbai Games expects the total participation to go above 20k this season.

Mumbai Games, an initiative by Sportz Village Xp and the city's biggest annual sports extravaganza, is all set to begin its new season from November 30. The first season saw almost 11,000 participants competing in 16 sports and Season 2 aims at bringing the number of participants to almost 20,000.
