Despite retiring from the longest format of the game, India's limited overs skipper MS Dhoni continues to be one of the biggest brands in the sporting world. According to the Forbes, Dhoni comes at No.10 in the list which is headed by Swiss maestro Roger Federer, who is valued at $37 million a year.

Struggling with his fitness, Roger Federer is currently the World No.7 in the ATP rankings. Federer had earlier missed the first Slam of his career at the French Open 2016 after a knee surgery and later announced his intention to skip the entire 2016 season in order to recover for the next season. However, his absence from the top spot in the rankings has not affected his earnings as a sports brand.

Brand value is the amount by which an athlete's endorsement income exceeds the average earned by the top 10 players in the same sport during the past year, and Federer's current brand value, according to the Forbes, is at $37 million a year. Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James comes in second at $34 million a year, while golf star Phil Michelson is third at $28 million a year.

MS Dhoni is the only cricketer in the list which is dominated by golf and NBA stars. Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt features in at No.4, while Cristiano Ronaldo continues to beat Lionel Messi when it comes to being the biggest brand in football. Tiger Woods, another sportsman who has not been at the top of his game for a long time, still remains at No.5.
