Frank Lampard and Brandon Thomas-Asante Shine as Coventry Dominate Championship

Coventry City head coach Frank Lampard has been named Championship manager of the month for October after winning five of six matches, earning 15 points and scoring 18 goals. Striker Brandon Thomas-Asante also claimed player of the month, netting six goals in the same period. Coventry now lead the table by five points and aim for Premier League promotion after 25 years.

In the Championship, Coventry City head coach Frank Lampard has been named manager of the month for October after leading his team to the top of the table. Since his appointment in November 2024, Lampard has won 28 of his 50 games in charge. Last month, Coventry collected 15 points from a possible 18, winning five of six matches and scoring 18 goals. Their strong form has continued into November, with back-to-back wins extending their lead at the top to five points. 

Lampard credited the success to the hard work of his staff and players, emphasizing the collective effort behind the achievement. In addition to Lampard’s recognition, striker Brandon Thomas-Asante was awarded player of the month. The 26-year-old Ghanaian forward is the joint top scorer in the Championship with 10 goals, six of which came during the six matches in October. 

Thomas-Asante expressed his happiness at winning the award and praised Lampard and the coaching staff for their support. Coventry’s next match is scheduled against West Bromwich Albion on 22 November after the international break. The club is aiming to achieve promotion to the Premier League for the first time in 25 years, with Lampard’s leadership and the team’s current momentum giving fans hope for a historic season.
