Chelsea are eyeing a summer move for Alejandro Garnacho after Manchester United set a £65 million price tag. The 20-year-old winger, once a key prospect, has seen limited game time under Ruben Amorim. With interest from Chelsea and Napoli, and United needing funds for a rebuild, a transfer appears increasingly likely.
After the January transfer window failed to produce a deal, Chelsea are now set to revive their interest in Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho. Once seen as one of United’s brightest young stars, Garnacho has struggled under new manager Ruben Amorim, often finding himself on the bench. As United look to raise funds for a squad rebuild, the club is open to selling the Argentine this summer and has reportedly set an asking price of at least £65 million, according to the Daily Star.
Garnacho is believed to be open to a move following a frustrating spell, especially with United targeting Wolves forward Matheus Cunha in a £62.5 million deal and Chelsea and Arsenal are also pursuing Cunha, but United are currently leading the race. Garnacho's impressive performance in United’s recent 4-3 loss to Brentford, where he scored and assisted, may boost interest further.
Meanwhile, club legend Rio Ferdinand has urged United to keep faith in the 19-year-old, highlighting his pace and potential. However, former defender Bacary Sagna believes it’s the right time for Garnacho to leave in search of regular football. With United sitting 15th in the league but still in contention for the Europa League title, major summer changes seem inevitable.
