Reports claimed he opposed Jorge Jesus appointment, but Neymar clarified that he has no role in such matters. The Brazilian Football Confederation continues its search for a coach to lead the team in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

When it comes to the latest controversy surrounding Neymar, the Brazilian star has firmly denied any involvement in selecting the new head coach for the Brazilian national team. Following Brazil’s loss to Argentina, coach Dorival Junior was dismissed, sparking speculation about his replacement.

Reports suggested that Neymar was against the appointment of Portuguese manager Jorge Jesus, currently coaching Al Hilal, and had allegedly informed the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) of his disapproval.

However, Neymar has broken his silence on the matter, stating that he has no role in such decisions. He clarified in the Charla Podcast that:

“I am just a player, and I have nothing to do with these matters. I do not want my name to be associated with this story at all.”

His response puts an end to rumors that he influenced the CBF’s decision-making process. As Brazil continues its search for a new coach to lead the team into the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, speculation remains about who will take charge. Neymar, meanwhile, is focused on his recovery from injury and his future with the national team. The CBF has yet to announce a final decision, keeping fans and analysts eager for updates.
