Tottenham on-loan forward Mathys Tel revealed that Sadio Mane, not Harry Kane, was the best player he has played with. Tel, 19, joined Spurs from Bayern Munich for £45m and praised Mane dedication despite the Senegalese tough stint at Bayern. Tel has scored once for Spurs, while Kane, now thriving in Germany, had encouraged his move. Spurs, currently 13th, face AZ Alkmaar next in the Europa League.

For the 19-year-old Mathys Tel, Sadio Mane stands out as the best player he has played alongside, even over Harry Kane. Tel, currently on loan at Tottenham Hotspur from Bayern Munich with a £45 million buy option, previously played with Kane at Bayern and Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku and PSG’s Desire Doue at Rennes. Despite Kane’s record-breaking form in Germany, Tel admired Mane’s relentless work ethic and dedication.

Mane’s time at Bayern Munich in 2022-23 was turbulent, marred by injuries and a controversial bust-up with Leroy Sane, leading to a fine and suspension. He left Bayern for Al-Nassr in 2023 for £24 million. However, his legacy at Liverpool remains intact, where he won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and multiple other trophies while scoring 120 goals in six seasons.

Tel has struggled for goals at Spurs, scoring just once in a 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Aston Villa. With Dominic Solanke nearing a return, manager Ange Postecoglou admitted Tel may need a rest. Spurs, sitting 13th in the Premier League, now focus on their Europa League clash against AZ Alkmaar, aiming to salvage their difficult season.
