Amidst all this, the BCCI is all set to announce details of the auction by November 15. This date has been chosen to allow the teams to bring their releases and retention for the upcoming season. After that, the released players and the ones who want to participate in the next season will be able to register themselves for the auction.

The details about the IPL 2026 auction will be released by the BCCI and IPL officials by 15 November. Fans could expect it anytime, as they might even announce it today or even on the night of 14 November. The intensity builds around the date on which the auction will be scheduled for the upcoming edition.

The reason the announcement of the auction could have been delayed is the venue. The BCCI was looking to host the auction in India only, but it failed to find suitable venues for the same. Due to this reason, the board is now looking forward to holding the auction overseas, for which they a few places.

Abu Dhabi, Oman, and Qatar are the places where interest was shown in hosting the auction. But among them all, Abu Dhabi comes in as the frontrunner and has the highest chance to be the host of the IPL 2026 auction. Since it will be a mini auction, fans expect it to end in a day.

Several sources have provided information on the probable dates and process for the IPL 2026 auction. It has been reported that the teams will have to submit their retention and release list by 15 November. While there is no confirmed date for the same, the teams have been working on the players they for the next edition.

Some reports also cited that the auction will take place in the third week of December. Between the time when the release list is announced and the auction date is revealed, players will be able to register themselves for the IPL auction.
