LSG vs SRH | Twitter on the edge as Abhishek Sharma and Digvesh Rathi engage in tense war of words

Bowlers often go over the top celebrating their wicket, but Digvesh Rathi was unceremonious as he crossed the line to dish a sendoff to Abhishek Sharma during the LSG vs SRH match. Digvesh waved at the batter after dismissing him, asking him to leave before making his customary notebook celebration.

‌Chasing 206 for a win, SRH got off to an excellent start to reach 72/1 at the end of six overs. Abhishek Sharma was looking in great touch as he continued his scoring spree even after the powerplay scoring four consecutive sixes off spinner Ravi Bishnoi to complete his fifty in just 18 balls.

Just as he was looking good for another three-figure mark at the Ekana Stadium on Monday, Digvesh Rathi came in to bowl his second over after giving away just six runs in his first. Digvesh bowled a googly off his third ball to take it well outside the hitting arc of Abhishek who tries to go over extra cover.

But the ball turned well away, going out of his reach as the ball found Shardul Thakur at deep cover. As the left-hander started his dejected walk back to the pavilion, Digvesh went overboard with his celebration waving at the batter and giving him a sendoff before completing his customary notebook celebration.

Abhishek was not impressed as he came back towards the bowler with things looking to spiral out of hand. However, the umpires stopped the dismissed batter and the LSG fielders pulled Digvesh away to cool off things.

Twitter was soaking in all the drama as Digvesh Rathi continued to live dangerously with match officials sure to make note of the incident.

Rishabh Pant’s indifferent season with the bat had sneaked through to his captaincy as was evident in his review of a wide delivery for a caught-behind. After his disastrous innings with the bat, he messed up with the DRS call too in the second innings of the LSG vs SRH match at the Ekana Stadium.
