. All the teams will gather to complete their squads for the IPL 2026 edition. There are more than 300 players who are a part of the auction this time, including 77 overseas players. With several big names, teams are expected to have a great bidding war this time too.
Cameron Green, Liam Livingstone, amid other players remain the highlight of the auction. But there are several names which have given their best in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Talking about them, Ravichandran Ashwin took it to his YouTube channel and predicted the Indian talents who could grab big in the auction.
With the IPL auction taking place tomorrow, this is the right time to make some predictions. And in case of predictions, no one can be at the same level as the former cricketer, like Ravichandran Ashwin. He retired from the IPL in August 2025, and won't be playing in the next edition. But he has made some bold predictions for the auction.
Ashwin posted a video on his YouTube channel, where he said, “Bohot mushkil hain. To stick out your neck and say, yeh jayega bohot paiso ke lie. But do playero ke beech mein, I think one will go expensive. One is Kartik Sharma and the other is , jo Punjab ka player hain.”
He further continued by saying, “, abhi usne say run banaya hain and before that also, woh bhi wicketkeeper batsman hain. So, jo bhi team Kartik Sharma ko miss karega na, woh Salil Arora ke peehce bhagega. Or the other way around. If Salil Arora comes first, uske peeche bhagega. Usko jo team miss karega, they will go behind Kartik Sharma. Is auction mein uncapped players ka value rahega. Ek aur jo player ka value rahega, that is Tushar Raheja, Tamil Nadu ka player hain.”
Ashwin has named these three players as the main market movers for the auction. If one team gets any one of them, the others would go for the remaining two. It should be noted that these players have been making moves in the domestic front, and could get their maiden IPL contract in the auction, which will take place tomorrow.
Salil Arora is a young talent who is now making waves for Punjab in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The team itself is known for producing some of the best batsmen, known for their aggressive batting style. And playing with talents such as Prabhsimran Singh and Abhishek Sharma, Salil Arora has also developed the same.

Being a wicket-keeper, along with a middle order batsman, he could be a go to player for various IPL teams. Moreover, his strike rate in the T20 format is above 200, which shows that he could bring a lot of impact to the teams while coming down to bat in the death overs.
The next name which Ashwin predicted on his YouTube channel was Kartik Sharma. He may not have big numbers as Salil Arora, but the teams could also go for him if they are not able to get Salil to their line-up. Along with that, it should be noted that Kartik has been a promising young talent.

Currently, he is just 19 years, and has played well for Rajasthan as a middle order batsman. His strike rate also remains above 160, which helps him to score runs at a rapid pace for the team in the death overs. Teams could go for him as a long term option in the IPL auction.
Ashwin also named Tushar Raheja in the list, being the third option for all the teams who need a wicket-keeper batsman in the next season. He has been actively playing in the Tamil Nadu Premier League, and will also remain eager to make his debut in the Indian Premier League.

Although Raheja has not been able to impress much in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he will still be eager to find himself in any IPL team in the auction. His numbers may not be that good, but Raheja has maintained a strike rate of 165.18, which could help teams to get a finisher to their line-up.
