A well-timed six can electrify the crowd, but it sometimes comes with unintended consequences, especially for those on duty. On the third day of the first Test in Perth, Virat Kohli hit a powerful six that soared through the air, only to land directly on a security guard who was doing his job.

‌On a packed Sunday in Perth, India’s batting dominance was led by Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul, who shared a 201-run partnership, extending India’s lead. Mitchell Starc broke the stand by dismissing Rahul, but Devdutt Padikkal joined Jaiswal to take the score to 275/1 by lunch, with India’s lead swelling to 321 runs. After lunch, Padikkal was dismissed by Hazlewood, but Jaiswal continued his excellent form, reaching 150, while Virat Kohli supported him as India moved to 312/2. However, Australia fought back in the afternoon as Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel fell cheaply, leaving India at 325/5 with a lead of 371 runs. Thereafter, Virat Kohli and Washington Sundar showed great grit and pushed the scorecard. However, a painful moment came for the stadium’s security guard when he was hit on his head due to Kohli’s six.

On the fifth ball of the 101st over, Mitchell Starc bowled a short delivery outside the off stump, which Virat Kohli expertly uppercut. The ball was perfectly timed and flew toward backward point, hitting the cushion before bouncing and striking a security guard on duty. The guard was caught off guard by the sudden blow to his head, prompting Kohli to momentarily stop and check on him. The Australian players showed concern, with the physio quickly attending to the guard, while Twitter users empathized with the incident, sharing their thoughts on social media.
