Few things are more gratifying for a batter than executing a perfect shot against one of the world’s top bowlers. Saim Ayub experienced this moment of brilliance in the second ODI between Australia and Pakistan, where he displayed his skill by launching a stunning six off Mitchell Starc.

‌Haris Rauf led Pakistan's bowling attack and took a five-wicket haul that reduced Australia to just 163 runs. He was well-supported by Shaheen Shah Afridi, who claimed three wickets, further dismantling the Australian batting lineup. In response, Pakistan's openers Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique, got off to a solid start, with the score at 26/0 after seven overs. The momentum shifted when Shafique hit back-to-back boundaries off Josh Hazlewood in the 20th over. A moment of brilliance followed when Ayub launched a stunning six off Mitchell Starc, showcasing his exquisite timing.

After hitting a four off the second delivery of the 12th over, Ayub appeared to be in complete control, having judged Starc’s variations well. On the very next ball, Starc bowled a good-length delivery around middle stump. Ayub stayed deep in his crease and expertly used the pace of the ball, flicking it effortlessly. The ball soared towards fine leg for a six, sailing into the stands. Ayub’s delight was evident as a broad smile spread across his face after the shot.

What a shot!
