IPL 2024 | Twitter feels for Mohsin's concussion leaving a void in injury-prone LSG camp

Cricket is a game of uncertainties and injuries are its harsh realities. Lucknow Super Giants faced another setback as their pacer Mohsin Khan suffered an injury while fielding, marking the team's second injury among bowlers following Mayank Yadav's recent injury in the previous game.

‌Opting to bowl after winning the toss backfired for Lucknow Super Giants as Kolkata's opening batsmen took charge right from the start. Phil Salt and Sunil Narine showcased their abilities with the bat stitching together a formidable 61-run partnership. Although Salt fell victim to Naveen-ul-Haq's leg-cutter in the fifth over, Narine continued to dominate unleashing powerful strokes all around the ground. Luck seemed to smile upon Narine twice, as sloppy fielding from the Lucknow side granted him reprieves. Unfortunately, one of these missed opportunities resulted in Mohsin Khan injuring himself, adding to Lucknow's woes.
On the third ball of the 12th over, Bishnoi dragged the length short and produced a googly wide outside the stumps against Narine. The southpaw intended to cut on the offered width but got the outside edge towards the short third-man region. Mohsin Khan there swerved to his right in an attempt to grasp the ball but the white cherry rebounded off his palm, leading to a dropped catch. Eventually, Mohsin was seen lying on the ground with his head down and the replays showed that he fell on his head, resulting in a concussion. The pacer was soon taken off the field and after further assessment, Yudhvir Singh Charak was summoned as his concussion substitute.

Fortune smiles when readiness aligns with opportunity, perhaps tinged with a touch of divine intervention. This was vividly illustrated in the experience of Kolkata Knight Riders Sunil Narine as his stroke of luck came in the form of two close calls, narrowly dodging dismissal at the Ekana Stadium.
