There is a reason why Test cricket is considered to be the toughest format of the game owing to the need to out-think your opponent. During the Boxing Day Test, the stump mic picked up a conversation between Rohit and Jadeja where the former threatened to bowl himself due to the defensive field.

Australia came out on Day 2 of the Boxing Day Test fighting with Steve Smith and Pat Cummins putting a premium on their wickets as the Indians toiled hard in the Melbourne sun. When Jadeja finally broke the 112-run stand, India saw some hope but the incoming Mitchell Starc proved to be another tough nut to crack. 

With the hosts going past 430, India needed a wicket which led to a hilarious conversation between Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja. After an over by the spinner, Rohit was heard saying, “Nahi jaayega yaar (He won’t go there bro)”. Pointing towards deep square leg, Rohit added, “Udhar out hojayega? Itna lamba hai udhar yaar (Will he get out there? The boundary is too far).”

“Humein out karna hai. Out kon karega phir? (We need to get him out. Who will dismiss him?),” Rohit questioned Jadeja. He then whimsically added, “Mein? Mereko daalna padhega (Me? I will have to bowl.)”

Twitter picked up on the conversation and were happy to add their own comments to it.
