Following Jasprit Bumrah's 6/17 in Jamaica, Yuvraj Singh has revealed that he had predicted Bumrah excelling in Tests the very first time he had faced a fiery spell by the right-arm pacer him during a Ranji Trophy game. He has also added that Bumrah has made the critics silent with his performances.

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has hailed the 25-year-old Bumrah as bowler of all ages and a once-in-generation talent in international cricket. He also said that the very first time that he had noticed Bumrah, he knew that the coming of age bowler was destined for greater things in cricket. Five years later, the world is witness to the fact that Yuvraj's prediction has come true.

“Bumrah is a class act. He is a once-in-a-generation kind of bowler. I first faced him during a Ranji Trophy game against Gujarat at the PCA Stadium in Mohali in 2013. I played a hostile spell of four overs from him and knew immediately that he was going to be a match-winner for India in Test cricket,” Yuvraj Singh told The TOI.

“Then, a lot of people questioned whether he would be able to excel in Test cricket because of his unique action. But he has kept his critics quiet with some mesmerizing performances in the past three years, that too in all formats. At present, he is definitely a cut above the rest,” he added.
