The Indian senior selection committee have announced the team for India’s tour of West Indies and Virat Kohli will lead the side. On the other hand, Shikhar Dhawan has also returned to the team after suffering a thumb injury during the World Cup while Shreyas Iyer found a place in the side.

After India’s semi-final exit from the ICC World Cup 2019, there was much speculation about BCCI contemplating split captaincy options, with Virat Kohli leading the team in Tests and Rohit Sharma, who led Mumbai Indians to four IPL titles, will lead the limited-overs outfit. However, the BCCI shoved down the thoughts as Kohli will lead the Indian charge in the Caribbean Islands.

While Rishabh Pant has been chosen as the only wicket-keeper in the team, Shikhar Dhawan has made a comeback to the scheme of things after being ruled out of the World Cup midway in the tournament due to thumb fracture. While as reported, MS Dhoni has been rested from the team, the likes of Khaleel Ahmed, Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini have made it to the T20 side on the back of impressive performances in the Indian Premier League.

Krunal Pandya has returned his place in the side while Washington Sundar and Rahul Chahar have also been lucky enough to be picked as BCCI decided to rest the spinning duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal.

India’s squad for 3 T20Is: Virat Kohli (Captain), Rohit Sharma (VC), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant (WK), Krunal Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Rahul Chahar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini
