Wriddhiman Saha, who suffered a thumb injury playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2, is doubtful for the one-off test against Afghanistan. Saha’s injury is being observed by BCCI and if he doesn't recover in time then DInesh Karthik or Parthiv Patel could replace him in the squad.

Wriddhiman Saha, who has been the regular wicket-keeper for India in Tests, suffered from a thumb injury in the second Qualifier of Sunrisers Hyderabad against Kolkata Knight Riders in the recently concluded Indian Premier League.

With the one-off Test against Afghanistan slated to be played from June 14 in Bengaluru, it is doubtful if he would recover for the Test match in time. BCCI has mentioned that they would keep a close eye on the injury of Saha and would take decision based on the progress made by him.

“To determine the future course of injury management, Mr Saha will see a specialist and the BCCI Medical Team will continue to monitor his progress,” said the BCCI in a statement.

If Saha fails to regain full fitness, then, Parthiv Patel or Dinesh Karthik could replace him for the Afghanistan's Test.
