Virender Sehwag, who has made a name for himself for his Twitter humour, in his latest tweet turned back the clock to 2006 when he scored 254 against Pakistan at Lahore. The 38-year-old posted an image of him from the match with the #PakistanKaBhootBanaya hashtag sparking replies from Pakistan fans.

Sehwag posted an image of him walking back to the pavilion after being dismissed by Naved-ul-Hasan and wrote, “11 years ago, had the privilege to celebrate Diwas!”

During that first Test of that 2005-06 series, Pakistan posted a mammoth total of 679 in the first innings with Younis Khan, Mohammad Yousuf, Shahid Afridi, and Kamran Akmal scoring a century each. However, India came out all guns blazing in their first innings as Sehwag took the center stage and decimated the Pakistani attack. Sehwag scored 254 in 247 balls in an innings which consisted of 47 boundaries and a six. He and Rahul Dravid put up a partnership of 410 runs for the first wicket, and the match ended in a draw.

Sehwag has received a lot of criticism from the Pakistani fans, who were also quick to remind him of the thrashing the Pakistani batsmen had handed out to the Indian bowlers in the first innings, on social media after he posted this image.
