Watch: Kohli's successful review to dismiss Tamim Iqbal

Virat Kohli's troubles with the DRS took a temporary pause today when he sent back Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal for 3 runs in the second innings of the ongoing Test. Tamim was originally declared not out when he was caught by Kohli at slip, but replays showed the ball had taken an edge.

After setting a target of 459 runs to Bangladesh, Kohli had decided to open the bowling with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravichandran Ashwin. 

In the second ball of the sixth over bowled b Ashwin, Tamim got an inside edge off his bat before the ball struck the pad and looped up towards Kohli, who was standing at the slips. Kohli safely pouched that catch and appealed for a wicket. 

Umpire Joel Wilson initially ruled that as not out, but Kohli was pretty confident in his appeal and went for the review. The third umpire, after checking the replays, overturned the decision and ruled the batsman out. 

In the ongoing one-off Test against Bangladesh, India’s DRS call has come under severe criticism, and this should have come as a reprieve for Virat Kohli who has some big shoes to fill when it comes to this aspect of the game.
