Indo– Pak series looks unlikely as Pakistan rejects Indian proposal

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shaharyar Khan has reiterated that Pakistan cannot play a bilateral series in India as proposed by the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI). Adding to Khan’s words, Pakistan interior minister Nisar Ali Khan also rejected India’s proposal and said that he would consider it as an insult.

Earlier, BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur had told the media that the Indian government would not give permission for a bilateral series in UAE and pointed towards a series in India. However, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Shaharyar Khan rejected the proposal. Speaking to ESPNcricinfo, Khan said that, "There is no question of playing in India. I (am) still awaiting the reason of not playing in UAE."

Shaharyar Khan also pointed out that the final decision about the series will be taken by the Pakistan government and not the PCB. Responding to media reports about BCCI’s proposed series, Nisar Ali Khan said to Geo TV, "I consider any visit by Pakistani team to India as an insult.”

With Pakistan interior minister Nisar Ali Khan also rejecting the BCCI’s proposal, a bilateral series between the countries looks highly unlikely at this juncture.
